Tuscola County man facing 30 charges related to aggravated possession of child sexually abusive materials

A Tuscola County man is facing 30 charges following a Michigan State Police investigation into aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material.

The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force announced the arrest of James Arthur Goudie, 24 of Fairgrove, on Thursday, June 26, for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, aggravated child sexually abusive activity – distributing/promoting, and using a computer to commit a crime.

Goudie was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his home. The investigation was initiated when it was learned that Goudie was sharing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet. The charges appear to stem from activity in July 2024.

Goudie was charged with five counts of child sexually abusive activity – aggravated distributing/promoting, 10 counts child sexually abusive material – aggravated possession, and 15 counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

Goudie was arraigned in Tuscola County’s 71B District Court on Thursday, June 12, with bond set at $200,000 cash or surety. He will appear again in court for his preliminary examination on Wednesday, July 2.
