(SANILAC COUNTY) — A 31-year old Croswell man was injured after his vehicle struck a parked fire rescue pickup Tuesday night around 10:40 p.m. on Black River Road south of Sheridan Line. The Croswell Fire Department had their department pickup blocking the roadway on Black River Road with its emergency lights activated because of a downed electrical line. The Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Codey Bower, was traveling north when he struck the pickup, which was not occupied at the time of the crash. The car went into the ditch on the east side of the road following impact. Firemen at the scene quickly administered first aid until the ambulance arrived. Bower was taken to Port Huron McLaren Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Sheriff’s deputies say there were several fire trucks with their emergency lights on blocking the roadway when the crash took place. The incident remains under investigation.
