(MINDEN CITY) — Tossing a firecracker landed a 58-year-old Deckerville man in the hospital early Saturday morning around 2:30am. The incident occurredwhen he was attempting a U-turn in a vacant parking lot in the village of Minden City. While making the turn, he decided to toss the lit firecracker out the window of his vehicle. The firecracker instead struck the roof of the car and went off inside the vehicle. The victim flagged down a passerby for help who then called police. Nobody else was inside the vehicle at the time of the incident and alcohol was not a factor. The man was transported to Deckerville Hospital by Sanilac EMS for treatment of his injuries.
