Four people were hospitalized as a result of a three vehicle accident that happened Thursday afternoon near the intersection of Wildcat Road and east Mortimer Line Road in Worth Township.
Sanilac County sheriff’s deputies say a pickup driven by 21-year old Nathan Guitar of Croswell was travelling west on east Mortimer Line road when the brakes went out on the trailer that he was towing. He was not able to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and proceeded on to Wildcat Road. Meanwhile 69-year Sandra Beach of Sandusky was traveling north on Wildcat Road when the pickup entered the roadway. Her van struck the pickup on the left side and proceeded into the southbound lane striking a Jeep Cherokee driven by 74-year old Arlene Karr of Sterling Heights, who was travelling south on Wildcat Road.
Guitar and his passenger, 30-year old Jeremy Chalut of Lexington, Mrs. Beach and her passenger, 73-year old John Beach of Sandusky were all taken to McLaren Hospital in Port Huron for treatment of injuries. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee was not injured. Alcohol was not a factor in the mishap.
