(SANILAC TWP.) — Acting on a report by Thumb Electric Company on the theft of power, State Police responded to location in Sanilac County’s Sanilac Township Wednesday where troopers discovered the home was using an extremely high amount of electricity. Police obtained a search warrant and entered the property where they discovered the dwelling was not being lived in but rather was being used as a large marijuana grow operation. Troopers seized 198 pot plants and a large amount of growing equipment. State Troopers and Sanilac County Drug Task Force officers say no arrests have been made at this time and the operation remains under investigation.
