The MHSAA cross country State Finals will be run Saturday at Michigan International Speedway. Sanilac County will be well represented at the various races, sending more than 30 athletes to the event. Both the Sandusky and Croswell-Lexington boys’ teams, and the Brown City girls’ team, are making the trek to Brooklyn Michigan, along with a number of individual racers. Among those individuals earning their way to the Finals are Cros-Lex teammates Jarred Jolley, Max Whittredge, Calli Townsend and Lilly Connelly and Sandusky’s Brandon Hughes and Colton Cowley. Hughes had won the Division 3 individual race at Anchor Bay a week earlier. Marlette is represented by Donald Dunn and Cody Sanchez as well as girls’ team members Riley Ford and Lexi Wilhelmsen. Brown City’s Brady Kaufman qualified for the Finals for the Green Devils, while Deckerville is sending four runners, including Stephen Barker, Kylee Colesa, Catherine Sanford and Morgan Armstead.
