(CARO) — Lieutenant Todd Mapes has been promoted to First Lieutenant and Post Commander of the Michigan State Police Caro Post. He will be responsible for the deployment of MSP resources in Tuscola, Sanilac, and Huron counties, as well as serve on various committees throughout the area and serve as a member of the 9-1-1 authority boards in all three counties. F/Lt. Mapes enlisted with the department in 1996 and graduated as a member of the 114th MSP Trooper Recruit School. In his 19-year career, he has served at the Bay City, Flint, and Tri-City Posts. Mapes holds a bachelor’s degree from Lake Superior State University with majors in psychology and criminal justice. A native of Sault Ste. Marie, he and his family currently live in the Saginaw area.
