(Deckerville) – 263 yards rushing and four touchdowns by Austin Fritch, and a key interception by quarterback Brandon Pattulo, were the highlights as the Deckerville Eagles advanced to the state 8-man football championship game. The Eagles defeated Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian 36 to 6 Saturday afternoon , and will play Powers North Central this Friday evening in Greenville. Game time is at 7pm with the WTGV-FM broadcast beginning at 6:30.
Four other area 11-man teams will be in the state semi-finals this Saturday. In Division 5–Algonac will play Grand Rapids West Catholic at Battle Creek Harper High School and Frankenmuth will face Menominee at the Northern Michigan University Superior Dome. In Division 6 action -Jackson Lumen Christi will play Millington at Lansing Catholic High School, while in Divison 7–the Ubly Bearcats go up against Pewamo-Westphalia at Mt. Pleasant High School at 1 p.m.
