(ELMER TOWNSHIP) — A 30-year-old Melvin man was injured in a single vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Sanilac County’s Elmer Township. According to deputies, Eric Alexander was traveling east on Marlette Road near Isles Road around 8:54 p.m. when his vehicle went off the road and struck a driveway culvert, coming to rest in the driveway and trapping Alexander inside. He was extricated from the vehicle by the Brown City Fire Department’s Jaws of Life. Alexander was then transported to Marlette Regional Hospital for treatment. Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
