Sandusky city council members have a tall task in front of them as they tackle the job of considering if they want to move forward with the process of re-writing the City Charter. City Manager Dave Faber said before that would be done, an election where residents would decide the fate of the proposal, would be held. If it was successful, and a nine-member charter commission was seated, Faber said the task of writing the charter could take up to three years and cost between $30,000 and $40,000.
Sandusky is one of a few Michigan cities that still operates under the Fourth Class Charter which many consider to be an outdated source of government.
