(Port Huron) – The St. Clair County Drug Task Force was busy Thursday night and early Friday morning, executing three search warrants, conducting a traffic stop and seizing crack cocaine, pills and marijuana.
Shortly before 6:00 p.m. Thursday, members of the DTF, with assistance from the Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and Port Huron Police road patrol, conducted a traffic stop on a suspect vehicle at Willow and Rawlins Street in the city of Port Huron.
The stop was a part of an ongoing investigation into the sales of analog pills and illegally trafficked marijuana in the Port Huron area. Once the vehicle was stopped, the Sheriff’s Office K-9 located analog pills in the car. A 47 year old Port Huron man was arrested. Shortly after the stop, a search warrant was executed at the home of the suspect, in the 1000 block of Howard Street.
During the search, about $5000 worth of marijuana was located and seized, along with $750 worth of analog pills, drug packaging, scales, drug paraphernalia, cash and a vehicle.
An investigation into the sales of crack cocaine in the Port Huron area led to the execution of two search warrants early Friday morning.
At 1:45 a.m., the DTF raided a home in the 1700 block of Campau Street in Port Huron Township. A search of that residence found crack cocaine, marijuana, scales, drug packaging and paraphernalia cash and cell phones, which were seized. An 18 year old Detroit man was arrested at the home, along with a 29 year old woman from Detroit and an 18 year old woman from East Pointe.
At 2:30 a.m., members of the DTF executed a search warrant in the 1200 block of Court Street in Port Huron. Crack cocaine was seized at the residence, along with other evidence of narcotics sales. A 60 year old Port Huron man and a 55 year old woman from Port Huron were arrested. A total of about $600 worth of crack cocaine was seized in the two raids. Port Huron Police road patrol also assisted at the scene of the raids.
All suspects are lodged at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center. The 47 year old Port Huron man faces charges including possession of analog pills with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and being a habitual offender.
The suspects arrested on Campau and Court Streets face charges including possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana and being a habitual offender.
All are expected to be arraigned Sunday in 72nd District Court in Port Huron.
