One man was seriously injured early Sunday morning after a suspected intoxicated driver hit the victim and his disabled vehicle. St. Clair County sheriff department officials said the victim’s car broke down on Capac Road around 3 a.m. and he was working on fixing it. A second vehicle then hit his vehicle and the man. The victim was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital. Police said the driver of the car that hit the victim called friends who picked her up, as her vehicle was “wrecked.” She fled before deputies arrived on scene and appeared intoxicated, according to witnesses.
The woman’s car was impounded and police continue to search for the woman.
