Yale Mayor appeals Courts’ approval of recall wording

Yale Mayor Richard Busch has formally appealed a St. Clair County court decision to allow the wording of a recall against him to stand. Busch is the target of a handful of Yale residents wanting to have him removed from office, due to his actions against the city’s police chief last August. Judge Michael West will hear the case within the next several weeks. Busch suspended Chief Michael Redman for not wearing a bullet proof vest while on duty, but later rescinded the action.
In January, Busch did not re-appoint Redman and is considering someone else for the position. The recall issue will not be on the ballot until the November election, assuming petitioners are able to gather the 123 valid registered names.
