The Tuscola County Sheriff Department said they were made aware of an issue involving the condition of horses at a farm on Barnes Rd. Police said they checked on the animals and spoke with the parties involved who said the horses are currently under veterinarian care.
Deputies said Animal Control was at the farm to ensure the horses were being properly treated and noted one of the horses does have a issue. The unidentified passerby said he saw a horse that was in need of immediate help. He said the horse was not moving, was laying in direct sun, no option for shade, no water nearby.
The man said he was kicked off the property because the owner felt he was trespassing. When contacted about the situation, Sheriff Glen Skrent cautioned people, trespassing on someones property, without full knowledge of the situation, is not advised.
