DTF TAKES 6 STOLEN HANDGUNS, A VIOLENT OFFENDER AND CHRYSTAL METH OFF THE STREETS OF PORT HURON
Thursday evening the Drug Task Force ended an investigation of crystal meth after they took a 35 year old male into custody outside of his vehicle. The arrest occurred in the 2900 block of 22nd St. in the City of Port Huron.
The DTF then executed a search warrant at an address in the same area, which the subject had been dealing narcotics from.
A total of 7 adults were detained inside the home. Of the 4 males and 3 females inside the home one 23 year old female from Port Huron was arrested for resisting and obstructing police and a 24 year old male from Port Huron was arrested for possession of meth. The remaining were questioned and released from the scene.
Once the suspect was in custody a loaded handgun was located in his front pocket which was reported stolen. Inside the vehicle members of the DTF located a total of 5 more handguns.
Of the 6 hand guns 4 were reported stolen from the cities of Yale, Port Huron, Marysville and the County of St. Clair, the remaining two were unregistered.
DTF located $1400 worth of crystal meth and $600 worth of cocaine along with a variety of burglary tools inside his vehicle.
The 35 year old suspect was currently residing in the City of Port Huron however, originally from Detroit.
He is facing charges of a convicted felon in possession of a stolen handgun (4 counts), violation of CCW, possession of firearm in the commission of a felony, possession with intent to deliver meth, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of burglary tools, parole violation and habitual offender fourth.
The suspect is currently on parole for felon in possession of a firearm and unarmed robbery.
