The Thumb Area Quiz Bowl League held their March tournament for elementary & middle school students Tuesday at Carsonville-Port Sanilac. With over 90 students from six area schools, five preliminary matches were held for students fourth through eighth grades. A sixth championship match was held featuring teams with the best records from the preliminaries. Sandusky’s A team took first place in the fourth, fifth and sixth grade division over runner-up Marlette by a final score of 195-85. North Branch took 3rd place with a close win over Marlette (120-105). Host Carsonville-Port Sanilac A took the 7th/8th grade championship over Sandusky 195-120 while North Branch was third with a win over CPS-B 105-75. The next tournament will be held April 10th at Brown City Elementary.
