It was a night of reckoning for Minden City and Minden Township last week when the two entities got together and hammered out details for a new fire protection contract for 2018-2019 and settled differences from the previous two contracts.
The movement on the stalemate of agreeing on contracts came after both sides were informed legal representatives that Sanilac County Circuit Judge Donald Teeple encouraged the matter be settled, or would take care of the issue, according to the Minden City Herald.
The township agreed to pay nearly $145,000 for two years worth of coverage and just under $100,000 for the 2016 contract, according to the newspaper.
