The Sanilac County Sheriff Department has a new detective after Deputy Rob Wendling was recently promoted. Detective Wendling is a 1997 Graduate of New Lothrop High School, attended Saginaw Valley State University and Delta Police Academy, graduating in Delta’s 79th Class. He started his career at the Sheriff’s Office in 2009 and has worked various assignments including Firearms Instructor, Fire Investigator and Special Response Team member. Most recently, Wendling worked as Weighmaster and D.A.R.E. Instructor. He is an outdoor enthusiast and currently resides in the Sandusky area with his family.
