Village of Ubly officials are joing forces with school administrators and staff to seek a grant that could provide up to $200,000 for Safer Routes to School. The grant is designed to provide a safer route for students to get to school, including those with disabilities. The intensive grant application process includes both school and community leaders along with students and parents. School districts in Bad Axe and Marlette have also recently sought the funding. Once the application is submitted, Ubly officials said it could take up to a year to learn if they receive funding.
