Business continues to be good for one Imlay City employer, so much so that they are looking to purchase adjacent property for a planned $2 million dollar expansion project. Springfield Industries, a company producing products for the automotive, construction and appliance industries, has offered Imlay City officials $100,000 dollars for a seven and a half acre parcel in the city’s Industrial Park. if approved, Springfield would expand their current 45,000 square foot facility by 20,000 square feet and add up to eight new employees. The Imlay City Commission could take action at their May meeting.
