The Lapeer County Sheriff Department continues to investigate an ATV accident over the weekend that claimed the life of a 40-year old North Branch man Sunday evening. According to investigators, Joseph Armstrong and his father were riding quad runners on Silverwood Road in Rich Township around 8 p.m. Armstrong swerved to miss an approaching pickup truck, losing control and hitting two trees before landing in a nearby river. Despite being pulled from the water by his father who gave life-saving efforts along with emergency personnel, Armstrong was pronounced deceased at the scene.
