A 43-year old Lapeer man died after crossing the center line into the path of a minivan Thursday evening while possibly driving drunk. The Lapeer County Sheriff Department said the man was driving west on Bowers Road when he drove into the path of a minivan traveling east near Roods Lake Road. Deputies said the vehicles collided head-on near the shoulder of the eastbound lane around 9:3o p.m. Investigators say the Lapeer man was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. The 31-year-old Lapeer woman driving the minivan was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Names of the victims have not been released and the accident remains under investigation.
