Sandusky police investigate thefts

Police investigate larcenies

The Sandusky police department is investigating a rash of larcenies in the past two days. Police Chief Bret Lester said multiple unlocked vehicles and garages have been entered with loose change and other valuables being taken.
No locked dwellings or vehicles have been broken in to. Lester said numerous phone calls have been coming in the past two days reporting thefts, mainly in the southeast quadrant of the city, although some have been reported in the southwest section as well.
Chief Lester is encouraging residents to report any suspicious activity and to lock vehicles and buildings. Anyone who sees suspicious activity or information about the thefts can call Sandusky police at 810-648-2000 ext. 2.
