Two Cass City residents have been arrested
(CASS CITY) – Police from multiple agencies continue to investigate an incident in Cass City last week. Authorities say two Cass City residents have been charged in connection with a stabbing that police say occurred last Wednesday and Thursday.
Around 11 p.m. Thursday, the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence in the 6000 block of Houghton Street to assist the Cass City Police Department.
The alleged assault was against a 37-year old male who sustained multiple injuries July 18 and July 19.
The Tuscola County Prosecutor’s Office filed criminal charges against Ashley Elizabeth-Michelle Smith, 31, of Cass City, and Cal Bradley Richards, 32, of Cass City.
Smith is charged with five counts of lying to a police officer in a violent crime investigation. If found guilty, each charge is punishable by a maximum of four years in prison.
Richards is facing four charges in the alleged incident, including assault with intent to murder.
