(IOSCO COUNTY) — Troopers from the West Branch Post say a 26-year old Lexington man was killed in a dirt bike crash Sunday afternoon in Iosco County’s Plainfield Township. Troopers were sent to Snowmobile Trail #6 near the Liberty Road Trail head around 2 p.m. The victim, Colin Cantrick, was found on the ground unresponsive. An investigation showed that Cantrick and a friend were riding their dirt bikes on the trail when Cantrick lost control of his bike and crashed into a tree. Authorities say he was wearing a helmet and speed appears to be factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. The U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement, Michigan Conservation officers, Iosco County Sheriff’s deputies and EMS personnel assisted at the scene.
