(SANDUSKY) – The Sanilac County Board of Commissioners met in brief session Wednesday afternoon, taking care of business in short order.
Veterans Affairs Director Shannon Kreger presented Commissioners with her annual report, highlighted by the department taking in over $10 million dollars in benefits for County Veterans. Kreger said 52 new Veterans received assistance from the department and nearly $50,000 dollars was spent in emergency assistance to Veterans.
Commissioners gave approval to a request from Kreger for the department to purchase another vehicle, with Dave Hall Inc. winning the low bid with a price of $28,850 for a Chevy SUV.
The new vehicle will replace an older van that had over 170,000 miles on it.
