A 54-year old man is dead following a motorcycle crash in Fort Gratiot Township. Robert Wakeham, of Fort Gratiot, was riding his Harley Davidson westbound on Lincoln Avenue shortly before 3:00 Wednesday afternoon. According to witnesses, he was driving at a high rate of speed, skidded, lost control and went through the intersection of East Montevista Drive before being thrown from his bike. Wakeham was transported by Tri-Hospital EMS to McLaren Port Huron Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. Wakeham was not wearing a helmet. Fort Gratiot Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene of the crash.
