New contracts – new pay for contracted services

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Sanilac County Board of Commissioners has ratified a three-year contract with another of their unions, with similar benefits.

At their meeting last week, Commissioners agreed to giving members of the Police Officers Labor Council Corrections Unit a wage increase for 2020.

The new pact calls for a 1.5% increase beginning January 1, 2020 with raises of 1.75% in both 2021 and 2022 with a total pay increase of 5% over the life of the contract.

Also agreed to was implementation of bed rental program premiums, shift premiums and longevity pay for members with more than 15 years of service.

As a result of recently settled contracts with th e Sheriff Department, the Sanilac County Board of Commissioners agreed to making amendments in three contracts they have regarding law enforcement.

At their meeting last week, the board agreed to increases in pay for police coverage to two townships and one village.

Delaware and Elk Townships will now be paying $47.66 per hour for law enforcement services with the pay jumping to $79.43 per hour for holidays.

The Village of Port Sanilac will now be billed for services at a rate of $56.51 per hour with holiday pay being $94.18.

The proposals were approved by Commissioners and presented to the respective boards for their final approval.
