(SANILAC COUNTY_) – An updated map of COVID cases in Sanilac County has been published this week, with minimal changes.
The number of deaths due to the coronavirus remains at five for the county, a number that has remained low for the duration of the pandemic.
Both Sanilac and Huron County, largely rural areas, have reported very few deaths due to the virus and the number of cases overall has also fortunately been consistently low.
Sanilac County is reporting 53 cases of which nine are currently active.
The southern portion of Sanilac County has had the highest number of cases, with 43 of the 53 positive cases.
Croswell has had 12 cases while Marlette and Carsonville have had eight each. Brown City has had five cases and Sandusky four.
Drive-thru testing, by appointment only, continues through the Sanilac County Health Department.
