(SANILAC COUNTY) – Major road construction work is underway in the City of Croswell, on Peck Rd (M 90) between Croswell Rd and Howard Ave.
Officials say the westbound lane of M-90 is closed while crews work at installing concrete culverts that will allow for the filling of the deep ditch on the north side of the road.
Project personnel say the work on the ditch will provide more green-space between the road and the bike path.
There will also be work done on the railroad crossing just west of the Croswell Road intersection along with turn lanes being added on Peck Rd and Croswell Rd.
Local officials say the work is in preparation of Michigan Sugar’s piling ground expansion in the area and are encouraging motorists to allow for extra drive time due to lane closures.
Temporary traffic signals are in place to help with vehicle flow and construction is expected to continue through the remainder of the summer.
