HURON COUNTY – The Huron County Health Department today made the public aware of several possible COVID-19 community exposure sites. Listed below are the local establishments that were visited by a group of patrons between the hours of 8 p.m. July 11 and 12:30 a.m. July 12.
According to the health department, several individuals from the group have tested positive for COVID-19.
• Ubly Pub, Ubly
• Farmers Tavern, Ruth
• Smalley’s Bar & Grill, Harbor Beach
• The Gathering Place, Bad Axe
“If you were at these locations during the period of time listed or shortly thereafter, you should self-quarantine, keeping away from family and roommates as much as possible,” the health department said in a release. “Please monitor yourself for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days since the date of exposure.”
Symptoms for COVID-19 can include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, headaches, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, congestion, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, and muscle or body aches.
The health department says if you have developed any of these symptoms or were in the locations above during the time of possible exposure, testing is encouraged.
Testing can be done without a doctor’s order through Great Lakes Bay Healthcare Center at 876 N. Van Dyke Road, Bad Axe (behind KFC/Taco Bell) from 10 a.m. until noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
“This is a reminder that COVID-19 is still present and circulating in Michigan and in Huron County,” the statement read. “Individuals need to remain vigilant, wear a mask, practice social distancing and continue good hand hygiene. Anyone could have COVID-19 and be carrying and spreading the virus without symptoms, or not yet showing symptoms. Everyone needs to take precautions so that we can keep infections down and keep our local businesses open.”
