St. Clair County man pulled from water

(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) – Port Huron firefighters and two city residents are being credited with pulling a man to safety from the Black River Monday morning.
City firefighters received a call of a person that had possibly fallen into the water around 10:30 Monday morning in the 1100 block of Water Street.
Around the same time, two residents who were returning from fishing by boat heard a cry for help coming from inside a nearby boathouse.
The two citizens quickly sprang into action, using a rope to move the 56-year-old man from the boathouse over to the dock, then with the assistance of firefighters removed the person from the water.
Port Huron Fire Department officials say it’s unknown how long the man had been in the water.
Firefighters treated the man, removing wet clothing and wrapping him with blankets before he was transported to Port Huron McLaren for evaluation. No other injuries were reported.
