Two-vehicle crash in Sanilac County

(SANILAC COUNTY) – One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Sanilac County Friday morning. According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, deputies received a call of a two-vehicle traffic crash near the intersection of N. Van Dyke Road Bay City – Forestville Road in Greenleaf Township just before noon.
Deputies, along with Marlette EMS and the Cass City Fire Department responded and found that a 2001 Chevrolet S-10 driven by a 23-year-old Sebewaing man was traveling eastbound on Bay City-Forestville when he stopped for the stop sign at the intersection at N. Vandyke Rd.
He then proceeded east, entering the intersection and into the path of a northbound 2009 Chevrolet Traverse driven by a 47-year-old Port Austin woman.
The impact left both vehicles in the roadway. Deputies say a 47-year-old Port Austin woman was transported by Marlette EMS to McLaren Thumb Region Center in Bad Axe for treatment of injuries.
The the Sebewaing man was uninjured in the crash and cited for failure to yield, causing an accident.
