Marlette to interview Superintendent candidates

(SANILAC COUNTY) – The Marlette School District’s Board of Education is narrowing their search for its next superintendent.
21 applicants expressed interest in the position but the school board narrowed their search down to six candidates who were interviewed earlier this month before the list was narrowed to three finalists.
The final three interviews are being held this week. Candidates making the final cut include the district’s current elementary Principal Jason Vislosky, the Memphis School District’s Junior-Senior High School Principal Matthew Karaffa, who is also the district’s curriculum director; and the Millington School District’s Financial Officer Jeffrey York.
The board’s plan was to meet with the men Tuesday evening and then have their new hire on board before the start of the 2021-2022 school year that begins July 1.
The new administrator is being sought to replace Superintendent Sarah Barratt following her retirement at the end of this school year.
