(VASSAR TOWNSHIP) — Tuscola County authorities say a body has been found following an early-morning house fire in Vassar Township. Vassar and Mayville Fire Departments responded to the home at 5747 Sheridan Road just after 2 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies say the home was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. Firefighters found the victim inside. An autopsy is planned to determine a cause of death. The victim’s identity has not been released. The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the State Fire Marshall. Deputies say the house was in the process of being restored.
