A 17-year old male from Applegate was injured in a single vehicle crash after the truck he was driving ended up submerged in a drainage ditch. Sanilac Central Dispatch received a 911 call reporting an accident Thursday morning around 11:20. Upon arrival, Sanilac County Sheriff deputies determined the 17-year old had been westbound on Stilson Road, east of Orchard Road in Elk Township, when he lost control of his 1995 Ford F-150. The truck ran off the road to the left and entered the drainage ditch, which was full of water. The driver of the vehicle was able to make it out before officials arrived. He was transported to McKenzie Memorial Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. The Elk Township Fire Department and Sanilac EMS assisted at the scene.
