The Sanilac County Road Commission has released their plans for bridge and road work throughout the county this construction season.
Around 30 miles of paved roads will receive some type of upgrades this summer and two bridges will receive major makeovers, making the total expenditure to be over $4 million dollars.
Of the two bridges to be worked on, the bridge on Peck Road, over the Elk Creek Drain, will receive repairs of more than $550,000 dollars.
The bridge, on Peak Road and just west of Melvin Road, is located in the proximity of the four corner township connection near Elk, Speaker, Maple Valley and Flynn townships.
The other bridge is in Bridgehampton Township, north of M-46, on Ruth Road between Eddy and Custer Roads. That project is estimated to cost around $788,000 dollars when completed.
Among the road work to be done is a seven mile stretch of Todd Road that runs through Fremont and parts of buel townships costing more than 1.1 million dollars.
A five-mile stretch of Snay Road, from Hunt Road to M-25 is expected to cost $280,000 dollars while nearly four miles of Bay City-Forestville will cost $885,000 dollars.
Germania Road, between Cass City Road and Bay City Forestville will be repaired at a cost of around $673,000 dollars.
Road repairs are made with funds collected from a county-wide road tax millage. Work is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
