The Challenger Learning Center at St. Clair County Community College (SC4) is launching visitors to the moon with Mission: Lunar Quest.
Mission dates are limited to the first 34 registrants and are scheduled for Saturday, January 21 and Saturday, February 18, 2023. Ages ten to ninety-nine and older are welcome to attend with a fee of $25 per person.
Those part of the mission will arrive on the moon in search of a long-term human habitat, command and assist Mission Control, board the Spacecraft as an astronaut, serve on teams like biology, geology, weather, robotics, life support, and more. Participants will also help deploy a Lunar Exploration Rover to investigate the lunar surface and make critical decisions.
“We look forward to welcoming more families, friends, individuals and teammates to the Challenger Learning Center at SC4 to see what the excitement is all about!” said Kristin Copenhaver, vice president of marketing and special projects.
The only center of its kind in Michigan, the Challenger Learning Center aims to deepen the appreciation and understanding of STEM careers and build necessary skills for the 21st-century.
