An SUV rolled into a Fremont Township ditch early Sunday morning, with the Sanilac County Central Dispatch receiving the report just before 2:00 a.m. on February 12.
Deputies determined that the single vehicle rollover accident on Bricker Road near Fisher Road happened when a 36-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both from Yale, were headed north in their 2020 GMC Acadia when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle crossed the center line and left the roadway.
The vehicle entered the west ditch and overturned in a field where it came to rest on its roof. The male and female occupants were then transported to Port Huron McLaren by Croswell EMS.
While alcohol was not a factor, the investigation is ongoing, with names being withheld due to it.
Deputies along with the Michigan State Police, Speaker Fire Department and Croswell EMS responded to the scene.
