A Tuesday evening fire in Elk Township destroyed the home of Rick Bamrick. Firemen from Elk and Speaker Townships , as well as Sandusky and Croswell were dispatched to the blaze on Sheridan Line Road, one mile south of Peck.
Elk Township fire chief Ernie Kilgus said the home was fully engulfed when they arrived at 8:44pm. Firefighters remained on the scene until around midnight, and were called back when the blaze re-kindled twice—early Tuesday morning, and again on Tuesday afternoon. There were no injuries reported.
Cause of the fire is believed to be electrical, however investigation is continuing. Damage is estimated to be between $250,000 and $300,000 dollars.
