Weather permitting, the City of Port Huron will begin construction on Griswold Street (BL I-69 West) from Military Street thru 24th Street on Monday, April 10, 2023.
The project includes water main replacement and street resurfacing. Due to construction, Griswold Street will be closed to thru traffic from 6th Street thru 16th Street for the water main replacement portion of the work starting April 10, 2023 and lasting until September 2023. Work is expected to be completed by November 2023.
Parking within the north parking lane of Griswold Street from 6th Street to 16th Street will be prohibited during this time period so as to facilitate the construction activity and enable local access to properties within this section of Griswold Street. City officials encourage the public to follow the posted detour route or use alternate routes while this section of Griswold Street is closed.
The project is being funded by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the City of Port Huron’s street and utility funds. If there are any questions regarding this matter, please contact the Port Huron Department of Public Works at (810) 984-9730.
