After an extensive search starting on Monday, April 3, authorities are happy to say that the Dryden Township teenager with autism was found alive and well near the Michigan/Ohio border early on Saturday, April 8.
16-year-old Nathan Baughman was found by Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies in good health, with the boy reuniting with his family as soon as possible. Nathan had left the family home in the early hours of April 3, leaving a note to his father and stepmother that he was running away and not to look for him.
Dryden Township Police thanked the multiple agencies that assisted in the search, including the Michigan State Police, the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and many more agencies.
Dryden Township Police also thank the public via press release for spreading the word and “pulling together to assist in bringing Nathan home to his family.”
