A 49-year-old Mayville man was arrested yesterday, April 20, after making threats over the phone to employees at a local Bad Axe bank.
With Bad Axe Police responding to the situation shortly before 10:00 a.m. yesterday, the threats saw several branches of the bank across the upper thumb go into partial lockdown.
With assistance from the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office, the man was arrested without incident. He is currently being held at the Huron County Jail on a charge of malicious use of telecommunication services, with a $50,000 bond pending arraignment.
Two locations were searched with the help of warrants, with evidence related to the investigation seized at that time.
With the investigation ongoing, police are withholding the suspect’s name.
