A traffic stop last Friday afternoon turned into a collaboration between Huron County Sheriff deputies, Bad Axe Police and members of the Sanilac County Drug Task Force as they arrested the subject of a recent drug investigation.
It was around 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21 when the arrest occurred in Colfax Township as part of a drug trafficking investigation around the Bad Axe area.  Originally planned to happen as soon as the suspect got to the first rural area outside of Bad Axe, the arrest ended up happening in the Medical Care parking lot on South Van Dyke Road, after the suspect turned into that parking lot for an unknown reason.
Officers arrested the driver, 29-year-old Travante J. McKinley of Saginaw, on charges of delivering methamphetamine, heroin and crack cocaine, while his passenger, a 20-year-old woman from Saginaw, was released.
McKinley was lodged at the Huron County Jail on the charges on Friday before being formally arraigned on Monday, April 24. His bond was set at $250,000 cash and as of the time of this release he remains in our Jail. The 2022 Dodge Durango they were in was seized, along with nearly $1,800 in cash.
