The Croswell City Council closed September with a sizable agenda Monday, featuring updates to prior discussions.
City Administrator Dave Tait reported that he will be looking into updating many of the city’s zoning ordinances and is taking classes to help do so. Many of these ordinances are from the 1970s, with some additions having been made in 2021. Council members are also looking into hiring a master planner to speed along the process.
In new business, Mayor Rob Butler made a motion to modify the bridge featured on the city’s emblem. The emblem, which was designed with simplicity in mind, has received positive feedback from much of the community; however, it will be adjusted to more closely resemble the Croswell Swinging Bridge. This was met with support from his fellow council members.
Also at Monday’s meeting, it was announced that Chuck Cunningham will be providing his services to the city. Cunningham, who is familiar with the Navy’s information technology (IT) department, will be offering recording equipment recommendations. At this time, council members are still looking into livestreaming and then posting city council meetings to their website.
Next month’s meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 2, at 7:30 p.m.
