On September 27, on what would have been his 51st birthday, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office memorialized former deputy Jack Murray.
Murray, who was 33-years-old when he passed in 2005 of cancer, began his law enforcement career with the sheriff’s office in 1995. He later transferred to the Marysville Police Department in 1997. However, according to the Sheriff’s Office, despite making the move, “[Murray] remained a close friend, reliable partner, and role model for many in the law enforcement community.”
During a Wednesday ceremony, family and friends of Murray gathered at the sheriff’s office to see a plaque containing his badge, a piece of his uniform and years of service being presented and hanged at the office. With memories shared by many in attendance, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office shared via social media that “his impact during his short time was obvious.”
