The Port Sanilac Volunteer Fire Department reports that no one was injured after two vehicles struck a fallen tree on M-25 early this morning.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call around 2:40 a.m. Friday, November 17, from a semi-truck driver advising that he had hit a fallen tree in the road, just north of Snover Road on M-25. The tree had damaged and disabled the truck during the collision, with the fire department being dispatched to assist Sanilac County Sheriff deputies at the scene.
Just before responders arrived on scene, a second vehicle, this time a Huron County ambulance completing a transfer, also hit the tree, disabling that vehicle as well. No one was injured during that collision. Port Sanilac firefighters began traffic control at the scene, as well as checking on all involved parties and finding no injuries.
After the tree was cleared from the roadway, Sanilac EMS took on the Huron County patient and finished the interrupted transfer. The Sanilac County Road Commission assisted with scene clean-up, and the scene was cleared shortly after 4:00 a.m. this morning.
