After two local hunters reported their vehicles tampered with, the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office is both looking for and warning people of the individual responsible.
Sergeant Jordan Wade took a report Friday, November 17, with the hunter telling Sgt. Wade that after he left state land in Caro on Wednesday, his vehicle began running badly before ultimately breaking down. After a trip to the mechanic, the hunter learned sugar and water had been poured into his gas tank.
Another hunter in the area reported that the same thing had occurred to his vehicle, with a smaller white pickup truck, thought to possibly be a Ford Ranger, seen driving away from the second incident. The incidents occurred between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, in Indianfields Township, first striking at Ryan and Riley Roads and then again at Bliss and Wells Roads.
If anyone has information about this, please contact Sgt Wade at the Sheriff’s Office jwade@tuscolacounty.org. Caro-area hunters are also urged to be aware of this occurring on State Land to subjects parked in parking areas. If you or anyone else had this happen, please make a police report by contacting Tuscola Central Dispatch.
