A 47-year-old Bad Axe man was found with a trove of drugs, several double-edged knives and ammunition during a traffic stop last Friday.
Ricky P. Talaski, Jr., was pulled over shortly before 9:30 p.m. on December 8 after Huron County Sheriff’s Deputy Alex Jobes noticed Talaski’s GMC pickup truck had a headlight problem. The patrolling deputy stopped Talaski and found that the 47-year-old was driving on a revoked license and had previous convictions.
During a search of Talaski’s truck, officers found methamphetamine hidden in a flashlight, presumably stolen prescription pills, double-edged knives and ammunition. Talaski’s home was also searched, with other items discovered.
The man was ultimately arrested for possession of prescription pills and methamphetamine, possession of ammunition as a felon, felony weapons and driving on a revoked license. He is lodged at the Huron County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond, with Sheriff Kelly Hanson saying via press release that, as bond from another of Taliski’s recent driving charges was revoked, Taliski will remain jailed even if he did post the five-figure bond.
