St. Clair County Drug Task Force arrests three, seizes cocaine

The St. Clair County Drug Task Force has been busy this week closing investigations, ultimately arresting three.

The DTF arrested one subject on Wednesday evening following a search of the residence. Found during the search was crack cocaine the subject had attempted to destroy, drug paraphernalia,U.S. currency, packaging material and a scale.

49-year-old David Moore of Port Huron was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance (second offense), as well as a count of felonious tampering with evidence. Given a $25,000 cash/surety bond during his arraignment today, David Moore remains at the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center.  

The task force’s second and third arrest came Thursday, January 25, when they executed a search warrant on River Road in Cottrellville. The DTF were assisted at the morning search by K9 Brock and the county’s Special Response Team. The search revealed a large quantity of cocaine, as well as items indicative of a sales operation.

56-year-old George Gunter of Marine City was arrested on the charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine. During his arraignment Friday, Gunter was given a $20,000/10% bond. The homeowner, 49-year-old Melanie Emerson of Cotrellville, was also arraigned Friday on charges of maintaining a drug house and possession of cocaine, with her bond set at $10,000.
